The Portland Cello Project is playing Doug Fir on the 9th:
And for Portlanders, we have a huge announcement. We’ll be playing a show with our friends Blue Giant on October 9 at the Doug Fir Lounge. Blue Giant are basically the members of Viva Voce plus Chris Funk (Decemberists), Evan Railton (Swords Project) and Seth Lorinczi (Golden Bears). The format of this show will be unlike our others. We’ll be playing a full-set that will be just cellos, no collaborations (we have a very unique set planned). And after our intermission, 8 of us will be be joining Blue Giant to collaborate on their entire set (12-14 songs). Rumor has it Corinna Repp might jump on stage for a bit, and there might be a huge collaborative cover or two in the works.
