Portland Cello Project at Mississippi on Mar 6, 7 and 8th at multiple times

Portland Cello Project is doing a series of what seem to be pretty killer shows at the re-opening of Mississippi Studios:

The details are that we’re playing a series of shows for the Grand Re-Opening Weekend of this magnificent venue in North Portland (3939 N Mississippi).

Friday March 6, two shows 7pm and 10pm (featuring collaborations with Storm Large, Thao, Justin Power, Chris Robley and others.)
Saturday March 7, two shows 7pm and 10pm (featuring collaborations with Thao, Tu Fawning, Justin Power, Tahoe Jackson, Sneakin’ Out and others.)
Sunday March 8 — 2pm — all-ages matinee (featuring Thao and a bunch of others)

This venue is not huge, so you might want to get tickets early. We have a bunch of special things to announce about the show, but I can’t explain them all yet (expect an email next week).

There’s other interesting news about a coming new release and a few more shows here and up in Seattle

Also, I’ve gotten tons of emails today asking if it’s true that The Portland Cello Project has signed to to the record label Kill Rock Stars — it is in fact true. The release will be in June. I’ll put more about that next week as well.

If you need a PCP fix before March, this coming Friday (February 20) at 8pm we will be at Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon playing a huge, beautiful show with Laura Gibson (Linfield Alumnus!), Adam Shearer, and cellists from the Linfield cello program.

More shows in the NW this month: March 30 in Seattle at the Triple Door with Anais Mitchell and others, and more NW shows should be announced next week.

Five shows in three days … Whew!
